Dear Readers,

I am delighted to write this letter to you to celebrate my new website. I do hope that all the readers I have met during the year 2011 either by speaking to them at meetings or reading and replying to their letters will enjoy this new venture. It has taken a lot of work on the part of my IT expert and I am delighted with the result. New technology has brought us all closer together and it will be a pleasure to have the opportunity to receive your e-mails on this web site. New readers will be able to inform themselves about the kind of books I write and fans who write to me and now feel like real friends, will be able to compare notes and exchange opinions.

From time to time I shall write new short stories all about the ancestors of people who live in the village in the present day. ‘A Shining Boy’ is the first story written especially with your enjoyment in mind.

Best wishes to all my readers and to anyone tempted by this website to begin reading my novels!

Rebecca Shaw
